Finally, TV producers have realised the interesting stuff that can occur in a self storage centre. There are new reality TV shows featuring self storage coming out of the U.S.A..

‘Storage Wars’ is a colourful look at storage auctions produced by A&E. It follows professional buyers who scour overdue storage spaces in search of hidden treasures. Storage customers who leave their goods without paying their storage fees, will have their goods sold. Storage Wars really proves that one mans trash is another mans treasure.    

The characters in this show include:

Darrell Sheets – Ever the gambler, Darrell has been addicted to the “high” of storage auctions for 32 years. While others have turned the gambling side of storage buying into steady businesses, Darrell is always going for the “big hit.”

Brandon Sheets – Is Darrell’s son and Brandon knows more about antiques and artifacts than most history majors. Having learned the trade from his father Darrell, Brandon hopes to establish himself in the auction world.

Jarrod Schulz – Scrappy and determined, he fights tooth and nail to keep his business alive. He might not have the deepest pockets in the auction game, and is labelled as the “Underdog”.

Dave Hester – Strict and disciplined, Dave runs a tight ship at his Rags to Riches consignment store. He’s a big fish in the game and has made his money from blood, sweat and tears.

Barry Weiss – Since the age of 15, Barry has made a name for himself as an antique collector. Now at the age of 60, Barry dives headfirst into the world of storage auctions.
