We appreciate that is very difficult to estimate the number of boxes you need when packing up your stuff. Most people under-estimate how much stuff they actually have! This means they end up returning to us for a second, third or even fourth visit to buy more boxes. For this reason, we take all the risk out and offer full refunds for unused returned cartons. Buy as many boxes as you like & return unused boxes for a refund. And no, we do NOT need a receipt. The boxes are easily identified as ours.
Buy 10 or more, save 20% on Boxes
For volume buyers, we appreciate that it can add up to the cost of boxes, so we have this great offer for purchases of 10 or more boxes – save 20%. Better still, you can mix and match the sizes of boxes and still receive a 20% discount.
Used Boxes Buy-Back
After you have finished with your boxes, we will even buy them back. They are often still in great condition and can be useful to other people. This is a great way to save even more money as well as being a nice sustainability initiative, sparing the cardboard boxes from premature disposal. Will you need a receipt to sell back a used Kennards box?
No, we do not require a receipt. We know they came from us.
Will Kennards buy-back non Kennards boxes?
Unfortunately not. We buy back only Kennards boxes.
What restrictions apply to the storage boxes for buy-back?
We do have some limits on buy-back regarding condition, quality and so on. They must be in reasonable condition. Our customer service people in store will advise if they’re acceptable. We also do not buy back boxes that have been used more than once. More information is available in store.
Can I return unused new Kennards Boxes?
Yes you can! You can return Kennards unused new boxes to any Kennards Box Shop and receive a full refund. You don't even need a receipt!
How soon before my move should I order a box bundle or general box shop order to ensure timely delivery?
A box delivery within the metro area will be delivered wihtin 72 hours of when you order.
Do you sell padlocks that I can use to lock my storage unit?
Yes we sell many different types of padlocks. Every Kennards Box Shop has a full range.
Can I collect in store instead of having boxes delivered?
Yes you can! You can Click & Collect your boxes at any Kennards Box Shop. Or simply visit a Box Shop near you and browse the store.
What are the best materials to protect my items?
Protective packaging is always recommended. At Kennards Box Shops you will find a variety of packing materials: Honeycomb Bottle Sleeves for bottles and wine bottles, Pyramid Kraft Cushioning Paper best for crockery, Bubblewrap, Packing Paper, Protection Blankets, Corrugated Card, Lounge and Mattress Protectors.
What happens to boxes after the move — reuse, recycle, or return options?
You can return any unsued new Kennards boxes to any Kennards Box Shop for a full refund. Any good condition used Kennards boxes (excluding, crockery, bike and wine boxes) can be returned and we will buy them back. Unfortunately we do not buy back pre-loved Kennards boxes.
How should I pack, seal, and label my boxes for a safe move?
When packing your items depending on how fragile, how heavy, how bulky, will determine what is needed. Fragile items will need Bubblewrap or particular boxes (I.e. Crockery boxes for plates and glass ware). Remember not to pack boxes too heavy, as this will make it very difficult when it comes to moving the boxes. Fragile tape can be used on the outside of boxes to let people know to take more care. Use QR Code labels to be more organised and know what's in every box.

What is your buy-back or return policy on packing supplies / protective items?
Unfortunately we do not buy back used packing supplies or protective covers. But we do buy back used good condition Kennards boxes!
What types of lights are best for use in storage units?
Kennards offer two types of lights that are ideal for use in your storage unit. And when you aren't using them for storage they are great for camping, using on your boat, in the cupboard at home...
The Korr LED light is sold as a single or four pack, with 155 lumen light output and is waterproof, it also has a magnetic back. It's rechargeable and will run on high for 4-6 hours and 30+ hours on low setting.
The Mega light has a 2000 lumen light output and will run for up to 20 hours. It's is durable for rough work conditions and has a carry handle.
What’s included in each moving bundle pack?
We have three bundle packs, starter, small, medium and large. The starter pack is as it states, just to get you started, small for the contents of a one bedroom, medium, a two to three bedroom and large for a four bedroom house. When you add your pack to the cart each item will appear individually so you can easily delete and add to your pack. You can also have your pack delivered straight to your front door with our $35 delivery fee within the metro area, or you can click and collect.
